Sleep dealer is a movie based in computers similar to the matrix. The movie sleep dealer is originated in Mexico. People connect to this cables that transfer your power to other places and control machines. This is a new way of working in that time of year. Mostly this movie is about Mexicans, showing this new way of working and making money, in a way they don’t have to risk their lives by going to the United States illegally.
In the movie sleep dealer show how can people work in The United States from other places like Mexico. This movie just focus from the Latino point of view, trying to tell the audience all the need and the struggle that Latinos families have in their country and their only help is the family that works in the United States. This movie has some similarities from the movie The Matrix. In both movies people connect to computers to save their lives and keep surviving, in the matrix to gain freedom and in sleep dealer he is trying to gain money by working and keep their family alive. In both movies people connect through cables to get to other places. When they connect to these cables, they transfer their minds and strength to other places for example in the movie the matrix, they transfer from the real world to the matrix. In the movie sleep dealer they transfer to the United States to work. In both movies all people have to take the risk of dying during this process of transferring and during their stay, also people need to have nodes in order to connect to these places, otherwise they weren’t able to accomplish this process and their dreams and hopes would be shattered.
In the movie sleep dealer the director particularly focus in Mexicans. Is about how Mexicans can go to work to the United States without leaving their country by just plugging themselves to a machine. The move is telling that Mexicans are the ones that do most of the work in the United States and for this process they don’t have to be present in body anymore. Robots are their bodies in that time of year, they just uses their mind, strength and power in order to make this robots work. In the movie “Memo” the starring of this, didn’t have his vision at 100% and he was always feeling weak and tired. By this process Mexicans will just be dying slowly. These machines are draining all their power and the tools use for this process were damaging some of the workers senses in this time their vision was getting worse each time. Mexicans are just like another tool of this project in which they can be replaced any time, companies who hired them don’t know the consequences that their workers are having because they are not looking at them, they are just looking at machines. So they have no feelings to them and they don’t care what happens to them.
In this movie people from their rural life have to move to the urban life I order to survive and keep their family alive. To the government people from the rural life has no value as I seen I the movie. The death of memos dad didn’t care no one and nothing was done in order to catch or search for clues to look for the criminal that murder him. The government took away the water from them not caring if they were alive or death, or if children and women live there. They just left them by their own like trash, taking away all their resources for them to survive and making them move to the urban life to get money to buy water and help their family, and the only job available, by connecting to the machines. Is away to get more people to do this.

the matrix is a very interesting movie cynthia said that fior her the matrix for her is just about special effects thats all and that in this movie womens are been stereotype by only putting to womens in scene trynity and the oracle.In “existenz” the way people would get attach to the game is trough their backs. They have holes in there back, which insert a plug that will connect to the game. she said that existen in a better film than the matrix i completly. i dont agree with her. both of this films are based in real worl and reality. in the matrix you get into the the matrix connected trought a computer similar as existenz. in both movies have a lots of similarities

Are we living in the matrix or we are not living in it? It’s very hard to know if you are living in the matrix’s think that it’s very possible that we are living in the matrix. You wouldn’t have no clue that you are living in the matrix because all our experiences up to now could be false. How do we know that we are not living in a “Computer Generated World”? As Irwin calls the matrix.
It is possible that we are living in the matrix. You can be having a normal life going to school, having all your family with you, going to parties, hanging with your friends etc, but the questions are do you know what’s a normal life? Is the life that you are living normal?.

“How does media violence affects kids”
Media in this century has become another member of every family I the world. In every house there is a television, computer, video games etc. Children have access to all this devices, in television there are hundreds of channels and kids have access to all of them. In the computer thanks to the internet kids can access to anything you can imagine. Videos had become very violent in the last few years, in which you can see a lot of blood, stabbing, fighting, and stealing. Most of the parents don’t have total control over these items and they don’t realize that this kind of violence is damaging kid’s behavior in any kind of environment.
Children spend more of their time watching television or playing video games and parents don’t supervise what kind of show or if the video game is appropriate for the child. In the United States both parents work, the mother and the father and it’s impossible for them to check on their kids while they are on work. So the son watch watches whatever he wants on television

In this paper I will discuss the use of lighting and special effects represent good and evil. “The Sunrise” film in my opinion is very good movie. This film came was released in the year 1927, it’s an American film directed by the German director F.W. Murnau. In this film the director use lighting to show the audience what is coming up, good things or bad things. the techniques the director uses foreshadow to give an idea of what is going to happen.

Eduard: In his advertisement I told him to put more focus in how these ads are going to affect young children with kind of advertisement and why this has to be for everyone. I saw that he didn’t put focus on this and he was just reflecting in how this game is going to attract adults.
Giselle: In these add she just describe what was in the add, like specific details like what they were wearing and things like that. I also told her to focus in how this is going to affect children, how showing dolls with drinks is going to affect little girls.
Yes this is very common If it was some paper from my friends I wouldn’t be to critic about it, but since I don’t know he or she is ok for me to criticize their paper and to put all my thoughts in it. I learn that when you criticize someone, is to make them see how can they do better in their work and to make them focus in the things they left out.

Blog_8 Museum of Moving Image

I haven’t been to museum lately, and it’s been the first time I go to the museum of moving image and i really like it. First I thought it was going to be boring, but when I went in change my mind. I learn a lot of things, like how were videogames create and how it has been updating since the first one that came out. I also learn the special effects that the use in the movies and how some characters are simple robots. The ones that I like were from the movie “The Exorcist” and “Nightmare on Elm Street”. They look so real that I was a little shock. It’s so crazy how cameras have evolution from carrying a heavy camera to video camera lightest as a cell phone. I definitely will go back to this museum is an experience you wouldn’t forget you will have a lots of fun, and this museum proves is fun and cool.

The first time I came to this class I thought it was going to be boring, but them it got really interesting. Having the same classmates everyday is good, makes me remember my high school years…. Blog 6_ The Matrix

The Matrix is a science fiction movie released in 1999 directed by Larry and Andy Wachowski. In this movie Neo is a hacker played by Keanu Reeves gets recruited by Morpheus played by Laurence Fishburne, who offers him the chance to learn to learn the truth about the Matrix. Morpheus gives neo the choice; he offers him a red and blue pill. The blue pill is to return to the world that he knows and he will never remember anything that happen there, while the red pill will take him to the matrix and will see the truth, Neo takes the red pills and goes into the matrix. It takes time until he realizes he is not living 1999 that was a simulated reality and that instead it was close to 2199 and the world was controlled by machines. He learns all kind of abilities, techniques and movements by just connecting itself to the machine and loading all this into in his memory. A prophesy makes Morpheus believed Neo is The One, no machine could destroy him and at the end he finally start believing on himself, becomes the savior of human race and making the prophecy reality.
In this movie the gender wasn’t really important at all. Males and females had the same abilities as anyone, women can be as strong as men, had similar abilities like karate, kung fu, kick boxing, learning how to flight plane, helicopters anything, it just have to request it to the computer and it will be immediately in their memory. I would rather to live in the matrix and stop living in an illusion. I would like to live in the matrix because it’s a way I can help free the human race from the machines.
In this century machines are taking over everything, any kind of job has to be done by the help of a machine and in some cases you don’t need humans for this job. For example in the supermarket they have the self check out in which you check out yourself in a computer. Some supermarkets no longer need humans to do this job, for them is cheaper to do this, but what they don’t realize is that machines are taking over all humans works slowly and we are becoming machines at the same time. Slowly human race in becoming dependent on any electronically device like; cell phone who can live without them??? or the iPod. Nobody can live without a computer they will be disconnected from the world. We are not living in the matrix, but we will suddenly 20 years from now or 30, who knows. But the main point is that we are more dependent on computers day by day. The names that some of the characters have in the Matrix movie have a meaning, the main character Neo is definitely the one if you reorder his name neo to one and how all the characters life’s are connected to each others, I think this is the most obvious thing you will noticed in the movie.

Blog 5_ Semester Plan

The first assignment that I always do every week is from the class mass
media and society. This class I have once a week and every week I have
one assignment from it. I always try to accomplish this first so it will
give me to do the rest of assignment. In the English class we have to be
always having to be done with the blogs and with the readings. On my film
class we have to remember the terms and analyze every movie we watch,
this week he had to analyze a film and fill the pages 18-22. Louis is
going to post the midterm this week, so I’m going to check and see how is
it going to be and how can be ready for it.

Blog 4_ Truman Syndrome

The Truman Syndrome is a disorder or delusion in which a person believes that all of his or hers movements are being are being watch by someone or that there are being follow by this imaginary people. In 1998 a movie called “The Truman Show”. This movie is about a man whose whole life was being recorder in a live television show. He was trap is his own island, but the main thing was that he didn’t know that his life was being recorder and transmitted live trough national TV. All this happens since he was born. After this movie some cases were appearing in The United States and in Great Britain, psychiatrics called it “The Truman Syndrome” based on this movie. Patients describe their lives as mirroring themselves as Truman from “The Truman Show” main character of this movie played by Jim Carry. Patients start having some paranoid thoughts having fear to the internet and web is monitoring or controlling their lives. Most of the patients that psychiatrics treat mention their lives compared to Truman’s life. I search this syndrome and found various cases; some patients had similar symptoms of paranoid and their all are related to the movie “The Truman Show”.

Truman the chance to lead a normal life. The world, the place you live
in, is the sick place. Seahaven is the way the world should be." Is
Christof correct? What, if any, would be the benefits of living in
Seahaven as opposed to the real world?
Seaheaven is a city where all actions go around Truman life’s
since he was born. Christof says "I have given Truman the chance to
live a normal life". Christ is incorrect by saying this because he is
controlling all Truman’s movement having him trap in his own world
christof world. The cameras that he put to control all Truman’s
movements making sure he doesn't get out of his world. Christof and his
crew create lots of forms to keep him in his world, had their own TV.
Channel, just showing what he need to see. Some of the benefits of
living in Seaheaven are that there are going to keep you away from any
danger or disease. You are going to live in decent and normal place,
with people with manners and educated. Now in this century the world is
plague with violence in the streets. Wars between countries, the world
now goes around money, in Seaheaven you wouldn't have to worry about
anything, all the good things would be settle for your present and
future.

blog 2_ Allegory of the cave

The allegory of is cave is a theory that shows how can people only believe in what their eyes have seen all his life. Is about a group of prisoners chained in their arms legs and necks and all that they have seen all their life since childhood is a wall with fire in its front and all they see is shadows. Watching these shadows they use to play games by trying to guess with kind of shadow with come up. One prisoner escape and with a lot of fear he goes out the cave and realize that that their world is more than just a simple cave, looking for the first time at the sun, clouds etc. fascinated with this he went back to the cave to let his friends know about this but they think he was crazy by saying that those shadows where real people outside the cave. When people are raised only in one kind of environment is going to be their world until they know there is more than just what they know.

In this century people have become more attached and dependant in technology. We are slowly becoming cyborgs. A Cyborg is a human body who has certain physiological processes aided or controlled by mechanical or electronic devices. Cell phones, computers, IPod, metro cards and etc, are electronic devices we use in a normal day of life.
Day by day we are getting more attach to the electronic devices. In my own experience the first thing that I do in the morning, when I open my eyes is to check my cell phone. I can be without it; this electronic device has become part of my life. If am not texting or talking on the phone to someone and I am on the internet checking my email or in links like facebook, myspace, etc. I carry my cell charger everywhere in case it gets low battery. so i will say i am a cyborg.
